It may be true that most books do come out as movies eventually, but it is also true that the book is most often better than the movie (some movies, such as Fight Club defy this theory), so if you only rely on the movie, you'll be missing out.

definitely agree with skeptical here. like there is this book called Steppenwolf that Zooey keeps recommending cause it's supposed to be all good or something, but they'll probably make a movie of it anyway. and if they don't, well then how good could it really be.
anything that can't be reduced a series of images without a lot of voice-over and narration is not worth my time.
p.s. does any one know when the last season of Sex and the City will be out on DVD??

I would vote for a book forum too. I want to talk about Nick Hornby. Because he is good.

Ka-ching.Books are just long boring movies without color or music. Talky talkity talk talk. And you have to carry books around, whereas you can just see a movie and still have both your hands free to do a variety of other activities. They also made a band out of Steppenwolf. I think Hesse played drums.

i got on this thread late but i'm going back to the original topic. A walk to remember. remind me of this cause when i actually find enough time to not have anything productive to do at all i will watch it and then i will get on here and say how much i hated it. and i wont cry. is that biased

Rainfall: you may indeed write a few chapters in my book entitled Disrespect for Acting. And, if you please, please write either the introduction or, preferably, an addendum as well, so that I'll have an excuse in writing it to say, "Please see addendum," which will make me look smart. Which I am.
Sex in the City is bullshit. I live in that fabled city, and there is no sex.

Uta Hagen wrote "Respect for Dating". I'm not reading anything else she's written.
