Yes, I'll require a cashiers check for nine dollars and 38 cents (US), a copy of the movie poster for the 1971 Warren Oates film 'Cockfighter' (rolled, not folded) and a large bowl of M&Ms, all blue.
Unfortunately I have a friend's birthday Wednesday and a shoot Friday, so we'll have to make the exchange next week. Don't worry though, you WILL read the almighty trilogy. Your angst shall soon cease.

Tonight I finally had the pleasure of meeting the elusive Rain (in the rain, no less.) I gave her the first two books of the Deptford Trilogy, and she pulled the following items from her purse: WITNESS: One SEALED bag of M&Ms. WITNESS: When that SEALED bag of M&Ms was opened, it revealed a monochromatic burst of promise-keeping joy. And in addition, one money order which I intend to frame. Not only a lovely lady, but a lovely lady of her word. Enjoy the book, Rain.

Rian, I say this as someone who respects you and feels he is your friend even though he has only met you via I-Chat, Rain is not just a lady of her word, she is also even cooler than you. That is saying a lot man.

This is going to lower any coolness factor in regards to myself...but honesty above all else (well, maybe not, but in this case I wouldn't want myself placed on a towering pedistal only to disapoint to adoring masses). Thus a rendition of what happened when I saw rc's last post: I squeeled and called my parents over (the only people with in the vacinity of the computer i was borrowing), read the whole damn sequence, showed them the pictures, and then danced around the living room singing "I'm so cool. I'm so cool." Then I went to bed and dreampt (dreamed?) I saved the presedent from assasination (by poison, which I did not have to drink in his sted but for which effort I was not thanked) and made out with a movie star who will not be named becouse I can't spell his name.
I'm going to regret posting this arn't I.
Damn.

That I do darling, that I do...not to change the subject (oh no not at all)...but here's a quote from a book I am reading, thanks to the most cool (it's that mini, I tell you) rcjohnso.
"So off she went, and I read my Christmas annual of The Boy's Own Paper, and my father read something that looked hard and had small print, and my older brother Willie read The Cruise of the "Cachalot", all of us sitting round the base-burner with our feet on the nickle guard, till half-past eight, and then we boys were sent to bed."
Now that might not seem like anything particularly special, but in the midst of all it's ordinary scene setting is the delightful "...and my father read something that looked hard and had small print..." and I liked this so much I had to read it several times over and share it with you all, and then I'm also trying to change the subject so that makes it even better.

Rian, Finished Fifth Business a few days ago (somewhere around Flagstaf, AZ.), absolutly freaken loved it. Have started The Manticore and it seems destined to be adored also. But here's a question...do you want these particular copies returned (I can get them to Utah, smuggled in the back of a mauve van who's driver will remain unmentioned and clueless so as not endanger him/her in anyway)? Or shall I offer them up to the Lit Crew, put them in the post and send them to some other interested party? As they are yours, what do you think? Rain
